For 10 weeks twelve young people learned jazz, reggae and afrobeat songs as part of a free music making course for ages 12-16 in Reading.
The course is led by music leaders Robin Hopcraft and Idris Rahman from Youthsayers – the South London music collective for young people.
The CultureMix Arts and Youthsayers collaboration launched in summer 2023 with a four day holiday course followed by the 10 week course from September to November for young people to develop live performance skills.
This concert is the culmination of the workshops and rehearsals. All are welcome to share the achievements of this group of dedicated young people.
