Welcome back to Reggae Fridays Open Mic Night featuring special guest artistes backed by the Reading Reggae Collective live band on Friday 7 October 2022 7-11.30pm at the CultureMix Arts & Music Centre in Reading.
Our Reggae Fridays live band – the Reading Reggae Collective – is led by Grammy award winning producer, bass guitar supremo and musical director Don Chandler.
The event features the UK’s best reggae musicians including drummer Carl ‘Carlalou’ Benjamin (The Wailers, Julian Marley, Lee Perry, Dawn Penn), keyboard player Cyrus ‘Monkites’ Richard (Black Uhuru, Mighty Diamonds, Abyssinians), and Reggae Collective stalwart guitarist Derick Andrews (Boney M, Aqua Livi).
Friday 7 October welcomes a range of artists and performers with selecta DJ Lou Mulato spinning tunes in between acts. The bar opens from 7pm with a sizzling selection of Caribbean beers, spirits and soft drinks.
We welcome musicians, singers, rappers and spoken word artists to sign up and take part. Slots may be available on the night but we recommend booking in advance.
Don’t miss out – get yourself a free ticket, come with your family and friends and enjoy a night out with performances from local talent, good vibes, a pop up bar and sweet reggae music.
This is an 18+ event. ID required on entry.
