Reggae Fridays - Showcase

July’s Reggae Fridays Showcase is a special event featuring the music of the Crown Prince of Reggae Dennis Brown sung by Delroy Pinnock, and the honey voiced John Holt with vocals by Wayne Hernandez.

Backed by a full live band this special showcase guarantees an memorable night celebrating positive reggae vibes with a tempting Caribbean themed bar, outdoor seating, and a warm welcome.

Reggae Fridays hosts a range of reggae royalty including dancehall legend Tippa Irie; British lovers rock artist Peter Hunnigale; drummer and MC Horseman; the front man of Musical Youth fame Dennis Seaton; reggae singer songwriter Jnr Watson; Empress of Roots Soul Teshay Makeda; and afrobeat and dub outfit Soothsayers.

Award winning artist, songwriter, dancer and vocal coach Indra; roots reggae singer Prince Malachi; Reggae’s Got Talent winner Rafeelya; singer songwriter, producer and voice-over artist Harmonie Dèja; multi-genre recording artist Shumba Youth; and an impromptu performance from Bob Marley guitarist Junior Marvin for Reggae Fridays. Launched in May 2022 Reggae Fridays takes place monthly. For 2023 we offer a mix of events and tickets all at the one and only live reggae music venue in Reading – the CultureMix Arts and Music Centre.

Showcase Events headline established international reggae artists;
Open Mic Sessions where you can apply to take the stage with a live band;
Mini Showcase Events feature the very best upcoming reggae talent.

Artists are backed by a live band of the best British reggae musicians led by Grammy award winning producer, bass guitar supremo and Reading Reggae Collective musical director Don Chandler.
