Welcome back to Reggae Fridays Open Mic Night featuring special guest host Ras Tavaris with the Reading Reggae Collective live band on Friday 1 July 2022 8-11.30pm at the CultureMix Arts & Music Centre in Reading. Doors open 7pm. 

Our Reggae Fridays live band – the Reading Reggae Collective – is led by Grammy award winning producer, bass guitar supremo and musical director Don Chandler and features the UK’s best reggae musicians including drummer Carl ‘Carlalou’ Benjamin (The Wailers, Julian Marley, Lee Perry, Dawn Penn), keyboard player Cyrus ‘Monkites’ Richard (Black Uhuru, Mighty Diamonds, Abyssinians), and Reggae Collective stalwart guitarist Derick Andrews.

Talented reggae singer songwriter Jnr Watson (Glastonbury, Saatchi Gallery, Notting Hill Carnival) also performs his new single ‘Soothe My Soul’, and spinning old school classics in between performances is DJ Lou Mulato. The bar opens from 7pm with a selection of Caribbean beers, spirits and soft drinks.

We welcome musicians, singers, rappers and spoken word artists to sign up and take part. Slots may be available on the night but we recommend booking in advance.
