RASPO Live!

From humble beginnings Reading All Steel Percussion Orchestra came into existence in 1997 at the Central Club with its iconic Black History Mural.

Named in honour of Trinidad All Steel Percussion Orchestra (TASPO) the first steel band to perform live in the UK at the South Bank’s 1951 Festival of Britain. 

RASPO went on to perform live on television for BBC Children in Need, ITV’s Rosie and Jim and many more. Now an award winning outfit with a many prestigious performances of note RASPO has appeared at the London 2012 Olympics, The Royal Albert Hall and London Notting Hill Carnival.

RASPO is now established as one of the UK’s leading steel bands introducing thousands of children and young people to the joy of playing in an orchestra and providing steel bands for a range of events.

We welcome you to join RASPO at the CultureMix Arts & Music Centre to celebrate 25 years of so many achievements.
