RASPO will perform at the famous London Notting Hill Carnival Parade with a fabulous steel band float snaking it’s way through the streets to the huge crowds of spectating carnival revellers.

Get involved – join us for the ultimate Carnival experience on the road by purchasing a RASPO t-shirt, brand new for 2026. You can also volunteer as a Steward for the day.

Timetable

For Stewards, RASPO T-Shirt Mas and Guests: 

6am Meet at CultureMix Arts & Music Centre RG1 7QF in central Reading – depart for London
8am Arrive at Notting Hill to set up instruments and decorate RASPO’s float
10.30am/11am RASPO joins the Carnival Parade of Floats
7pm Parade ends
8pm Secure vehicle (Sunday). Unload instruments into van (Monday)
9.30pm/10.30pm Depart Notting Hill
11pm/12am Arrive in Reading

FAQs

Q: Can children join RASPO at Notting Hill Carnival?
A: Yes on Children’s Day (Sunday). Attending Notting Hill Carnival with RASPO is the most comfortable way to enjoy the Carnival. RASPO is a family steel orchestra with children, young people, adults and elders.
Sunday is Families and Children Day encouraging youngsters to visit, take part in the Children’s Parade and enjoy the Carnival with their families.

Q: Will I able to get on the Float with RASPO?
A: The float is for RASPO musicians only. As a guest you can dance and enjoy the Carnival whilst walking alongside RASPO’s float. Stewards and guests will have access to the support vehicle that follows the float on the route.

Q: Can I bring my own food?
A: Yes you are welcome to bring your own food to the event.

Q: I am volunteering as a Steward will I get time off to enjoy the Carnival?
A: Stewarding duties will be organised to enable breaks during the day, you will be required to stay with the RASPO Float for the day.
