Reading’s new Reggae Collective launched in June 2020 welcoming musicians and vocalists who want to develop as professionals.
Led by Grammy award winner Don Chandler the reggae music producer worked with CultureMix Records to bring many benefits for aspiring reggae artists.

The Collective has access to professional recording facilities, world class engineers, experienced music mentors, a record label and much more.
Music mentors include vocal coach Alison Campbell (Proteje), keyboardist Cyrus Richards (Rasites, Horace Andy), and Grammy awarded sound engineer James Zugasti (Aswad, Dub Asanti, Rototom main stage)
The Reading Reggae Collective works in partnership with BBMC, the Brent Black Music Collective recording and rehearsal studios and the first port of call for UK and Jamaican reggae artists including Maxi Priest, Gregory Isaacs, Aswad, The Wailers, The Mighty Diamonds, Frankie Paul and Freddie McGregor.
With Jnr Watson as the first signed artist to CultureMix Records this British Jamaican reggae singer songwriter’s success is the blueprint for future artists to achieve their dreams.
Reading based CultureMix Arts promotes Black Music to a wider audience through its steel orchestra RASPO and via a host of participatory carnival activities creating a hub that celebrates Black Music and Culture with calypso, jazz, soul and The Reading Reggae Collective.
