The second phase of Reading Reggae Collective saw musicians and singers attend weekly rehearsals in 2022 for the first show The History of Reggae.
With a new bar licence and outdoor seating for CultureMix Arts & Music Centre Reggae Fridays launched in May 2022 with monthly shows featuring a live reggae band, headline artists and an open mic session for budding singers and musicians.
The Collective rehearsed on Monday evenings with music producer Don Chandler who nurtured singers and musicians to performance level.
The popular Fridays featured a host of artists from reggae singers including Indra and Rafeelya, Empress of Roots Soul Tashay Makeda, Prince Malachi, Ras Tavaris and Peter Hunnigale.
The events were free to get in and well attended by many seeking an opportunity to get on the mic with a live band.
