‘Soothe My Soul’ is the first solo single from British Jamaican reggae artist Jnr Watson out now on new indie label CultureMix Records.
The new single ‘Soothe My Soul’, released 14 Feb 2020, is a well crafted feat of artistry bringing together the very best of young British and Jamaican reggae music stalwarts for this premiere launch.
With its uplifting melodies, this musical masterpiece is written by Jnr and produced by the estimable Don Chandler, a Grammy Award winner for his co-production and songwriting on the Morgan Heritage album ‘Strictly Roots’.
Rasites Cyrus Richards and Kashta Tafari play keyboards and guitar respectively. On drums is the snare doctor Carl ‘Carlalou Onedrop’ Benjamin with bass guitar courtesy of the producer himself Don ‘Donstrumental’ Chandler. The horn section is James Lawrence trombone, Jackson Mathod trumpet, with Gabriele Virgilio Pribetti providing the extravagant saxophone solo.
The rich melodious backing harmonies come via one of Jamaica’s leading background vocal artists the dynamic Nikki Burt (Everton Blender, Mikey Spice, Buju Banton).
Recorded at the historic BBMC Studios the track is engineered by James ‘Jaime’ Zugasti (Rototom main stage, Aswad) who won a Grammy for his studio engineering on Protoje’s ‘A Matter of Time’ .
Jnr Watson is no stranger to the music scene with previous performances at Glastonbury and Womad festivals and his own reggae band set up.
This Jamaican UK collaboration oozes quality and showcases Jnr’s timeless brilliance setting the tone for roots reggae culture heads, radio djs, vinyl collectors and dub sound systems around the world.
Look out for the vibrant vocals and soulful lyrics of Jnr Watson as a notable new UK reggae artist.
