The Reading Reggae Collective led by Grammy producer Don Chandler presents the History of Reggae show at The Purple Turtle Bar in Reading on Friday 10 December 2021.

Featuring ska, rocksteady, lovers, steppers, roots and dub courtesy of the talented singers and players from the Reading Reggae Collective The History of Reggae promises the best live reggae music showcasing ambitious and aspiring artists developing their talents with like minded professionals.

Bass player Don Chandler is at the helm as the live band showcases reggae music through the ages with Colin Graham on sax, Winston Rose on trumpet, Derick Andrews and Reality Shock record label producer Kris Kemist on guitars, L2R’s Childish is on drums with band mate Jajii on keyboards.

The show features a fabulous array of singers and players including award winning artist and songwriter Indra who will perform her single ‘Journey’ as heard on the BBC1Xtra reggae show with Sir David Rodigan.

Reggae singer and songwriter Jnr Watson, also heard on Rodigan’s Reggae, will showcase his single ‘Soothe My Soul’ along with a popular array of classic reggae songs from the last six decades.

With the rich vocals from experienced reggae artist Errol Kingsley, vocalists Yvonne and Lea this show is guaranteed to be a treat for a trip through the history of reggae music.

Show MC is Alpheus, an original ‘Studio one artist’ working in the ska rocksteady early reggae genre for 22 years. With Grammy award winning producer Don Chandler leading the Collective The History Of Reggae will take reggae music lovers on a journey through the decades.
