For June we celebrate Harry Johnson who joined The Jazzrobeat Collective in 2024 as a drummer and has performed live at Carnival of the World and Readipop Festival.
“I’ve been part of the Collective from the start when I happened to be walking past the CultureMix Arts & Music Centre and heard some amazing music coming from inside and went to see what was going on.”
Harry also occasionally plays drums with RASPO Steel Orchestra and completed a week of work experience with CultureMix Arts in 2025 learning all aspects of running an organisation including finance and business planning. As a result Harry joins the CultureMix Arts team to work on major events.
I love how it gives young people chances to play with other like minded people and the sense of community. Everyone has a passion for music and art and it’s great seeing all of that coming together.
Harry’s maturity and dedication to his music development makes him a valued member of The Jazzrobeat Collective and demonstates the progress that can be made when approaching opportunities with determination and focus giving him the potential to become a great musician.
