CultureMix Arts Carnival of the World once again wows Reading in it’s 7th year with a live stage show and fabulous Broad Street Parade resplendent with colourful carnival costumes.
The 2024 annual event opens with award winning steel band RASPO Steel Orchestra playing a dramatic repertoire of uplifing calypso, pop and reggae. The Jazzrobeat Collective follows after joining RASPO for a pan jazz fusion of Uptown Funk before the group of 12 – 17 year olds play their own impressive set.
Mbilla Arts’ African drum beats and beautiful marimba melodies are accompanied by flamboyant Colombian dancers Somos Chibchas who charm the audience with their cultural dance routines and traditional costumes.
