Marilyn’s Loft Bar is a cosy venue situated above Monroe’s Rib House near the Oracle Shopping Centre in Reading Berkshire.
The venue hosted the first Peace and Love Concert featuring hidden musical gems from Reading and surrounding areas including two steel bands and a reggae band. The sold out event was a steal at £5.
The atmosphere was set by DJ Louie G who played Latin, jazz and reggae warming up nicely for the first set by Reading All Steel Percussion Orchestra who played popular calypso to the appreciative audience.
Slough based steel ensemble Stelphonic followed with a fantastic mix of pop and funk including Rather Be, Get Lucky and I Feel Good.
The highlight of the evening was a premier performance by reggae band talent IYA Rebels with an entertaining and uplifting set of original and popular reggae songs.
